Reimagined Journeys is a multidisciplinary art collaboration organized by Lafayette artist Bekki Canine. A musician, painter, and poets combine talents to create a multifaceted exhibit engaging the theme of journeys. At each exhibit you can view the paintings of Bekki Canine along with poems by Kanika Ahuja, JK Anowe, and Logan February. At the reception for each event you will experience live poetry readings and the performance of an original musical interpretation by musician Sheeza.
This project began with the song “Dangerous Journey” composed by Carl Koelling 1831-1914. Journeys is a broad theme that each artist could interpret through their own perspective, background and personal experiences. Observers will find these poems, paintings and song not only explore ideas of physical journeys, but also express internal journeys of growth and change, discomfort and regret.
